A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The drawback of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited emails, but this problem can be resolved using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also important to remember that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

Creating a catch-all e-mailbox will be unbelievably easy in case you have a web hosting plan with our company. You can enable this option through our advanced, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is integrated into the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you’ve created displayed alphabetically and on the right side of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will immediately show you if a certain mailbox receives all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With one click on the icon you can enable or disable the feature whenever you wish. In case there’s activated email forwarding or if some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a specific domain name, you’ll get an alert from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your permission.
